Count Your Blessings

Count your life's beauty like flowers that bloom in their season, not leaves that fall. Measure your happiness by hours of pure joy, not troubles that will pass. Let the light of stars shine bright in your nights, not darkness. Count your days by moments that bring you joy, not pain. As you celebrate each new day, measure your life's richness by love that remains, not time that fades.

Demonstrating God's Kingdom Where You Live

Jesus taught us to pray:

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." His prayer was, "Make up there come down here. Make things run down here, in my life, the way they run up there." The answer to this prayer begins with you personally: your body, your mind, your appetites, etc. Then it spreads to your workplace, your family, your neighborhood, your church, and your sphere of influence. And it all starts by asking yourself this question: "Where do I want to see God's presence and power break into my world?"

“Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Daily Word

Zeal

I bring my zeal and passion to life.

Sunday January 25, 2026

Unity cofounder Charles Fillmore wrote in his 94th year, “I fairly sizzle with zeal and enthusiasm and spring forth with a mighty faith to do the things that ought to be done by me.”

His example shows me that regardless of my age or station in life, zeal is a divine gift, a part of me, always mine to call upon. Through it, I feel enthusiastic and energetic about life. I express joy and excitement as I live, love, and share of myself through service.

I am purposeful, passionate, and positive. I live authentically and make a bold impression on the world. I share my talents and gifts with a spirit of generosity and service. I begin each day with eagerness and end it with gratitude, happy to share my zeal.

Gratitude in Action

Gratitude in Action. Write down three moments from this year you are grateful for—no matter how small. Then take time each morning during the rest of this week to reflect through journaling or prayer to really feel that gratitude, not just write it down.

See comments for more prompts to help you reflect.

Daily reflection for the rest of the week:

Monday Morning: Write down the three moments you identified above. Now, with your journal or in a quiet moment, think about the specific feeling each moment gave you. Was it relief, joy, or a sense of accomplishment? Try to re-experience that feeling now.

Tuesday Morning: Think about your day yesterday. Write down one new, small thing you are grateful for, like a beautiful sunset or finding a great parking spot. Then, try to "feel" that gratitude in your body. Notice any physical sensations, like a sense of peace or warmth.

Wednesday Morning: Reflect on the people in your life. Consider writing down the name of a person you're grateful for and why. Then, take a few moments to send a silent "thank you" their way or, if possible, say a quick "thank you" to them today.

Thursday Morning: Focus on your health or your home. Write down something specific you're grateful for related to your physical well-being, like being able to walk, or your living space, like having a roof over your head. Allow yourself to deeply appreciate this fundamental part of your life.

Friday Morning: Think about something you learned this week, even something small. Write it down. Then, consider how that knowledge or new perspective might help you in the future. Feel grateful for the ability to learn and grow.

You Need People Who Will Show Up

Spiritual growth happens best in community, which is why small groups are so important. They help us pursue God’s plan for our lives. But another important mark of a healthy small group is that they help each other in practical ways.
